Auld Farm Distillery

For three generations, the Aulds have been growing grain on the family farm in Scotts Gap, Southland. After many years running the farm as previous generations had, Rob and Toni Auld realised their grain was the perfect raw material to produce premium spirits. And so, Auld Farm Distillery was born.

Studio Narrative was tasked with creating the brand identity for the premium farm distillery, which produces whisky, gin and limited-edition liqueurs.

Across every brand touchpoint we sought to incorporate layers of discovery, with overlapping elements and riddle-like content to cultivate curiosity at every opportunity. Though a premium spirits brand, it was vital that the brand retained a sense of groundedness to reflect its farm origins.

For the logo, bold custom type references the working nature of the farm, while a softer, natural flourish on the A speaks to the nurture of land and crops.

Our curious essence runs through the packaging design as well: encouraging customers to open, peel back or uncover in miniature journeys of discovery. Hand and eye icons playfully nod to the curiosity of spirit, while remaining grounded in a base of gothic black. The Seed-to-Sip message features as a distinct memory structure throughout the brand assets.
